Vantas corp. later known as HQ, was originally a real estate company that leased furnished offices on short term leases.
With the expertise of callison the company redefined and rebranded themselves as a service provider, to cater to the needs of companies such dotcom startups that may have dramatic changes in the size of their workforce, or individual entrepreneurs who did not have the resources or the need to invest in teh technological infrastructure of a modern office.
A typical HQ facility now provided secretarial, mail, photocopying and concierge services, teleconferencing facilities, conference rooms, strategy rooms that could be rented by the hour, week, month or year, or just a familiar place where an executive on the move with a membership to HO could stop by to check their mail, make a private phone call; send a fax while sitting in a comfortable lounge/ cafe setting.
The design of the spaces, architectural finishes, and lighting of the numerous facilities across the USA were an integral part of the branding effort. Each facility sought to be unique, responsive in its design to the region/city on which it is located and yet consistent and familiar to its users as a HO/Vantas facility.
As a team leader I worked under the direction of a design principal to lead a project team in the design, documentation and construction administration for multiple facilities across the USA, including Boston, New York, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh.
